LOOK!

This is all the junk food/candy/fruit snacks that I pulled out of my pantry a week or two ago. Dawson mastered the art of climbing to the top shelf of the pantry and sneaking anything sweet upstairs and devouring it. I had HAD it! In hindsight, I probably should have taken it somewhere that it might have been used, but in my moment of "NO MORE SUGAR EVER" I threw it all out. It's been a lot better here lately, too. Dawson is over his withdrawals and doesn't ask for candy for every meal any more. I haven't even gotten fruit snacks. I'm so mean!

Who loves you, baby?

Lunch Ladies Peanut Butter Bars

1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups peanut butter, divided
2 cups OLD FASHIONED oatmeal
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1. Cream first three ingredients together.
2. Add vanilla, eggs and 1 cup peanut butter and combine.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and mix together.
4. Spread dough on a greased sheet cake pan.
5. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
6. While hot, spread 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter on top.
7. Cool so that the peanut butter has become solid again then spread chocolate frosting on top and cut in to bars.
ENJOY
* This makes a whole lotta bars, so unless you have a house full of teenage boys, I would cut the recipe in half.

Do you remember

the peanut butter bars topped with chocolate that they use to serve in school lunches? I've been searching for that recipe for EVER and finally found it. They are oh so delicious and I'm a very happy girl.

The End.
